Column Subtraction Single Digit
Subtraction can be performed by drawing sticks equal to the first digit in the question and then cross sticks equal to second digit the remaining stick gives the desired result.
For example let us solve the question
In the figure below there are 8 sticks for the digit 8 and 3 sticks are crossed by red line as the second digit is 3
Counting the remaining sticks we get 5
Hence the answer is 5
